All the women – competing with their jewels – couldn’t keep their eyes away from the majestic pendant draped around her neck.
In the late ‘80s, Hong Kong was enjoying its last decade of colonialism in decadent style. For the foreigners – of course.
It was a time of balls, regattas, domestic staff, harbor excursions. An era of grandeur. Nothing was too extravagant or opulent. And, always done in the most gracious style.
These large, luscious champagne-hued cultured south sea pearls are the epitome of oriental noblesse. Suspended from a pink and white sapphire bow to add just the right touch of formality and femininity.
Each piece is entirely hand-made using 18kt yellow gold, with master craftsmen pouring sheer love of their labor into the 4 days it takes to make just one pendant and 8 days into each pair of earrings. The pendant is suspended on a 14kt gold round wheat chain. |
