Caring For Your Jewelry
We're committed to your long-time enjoyment of your limited-edition work of art from Royal Treasures Jewelry Collections. Thus, we're providing you with conservative guidelines on taking care of your gemstones. And, if you're ever in doubt, simply store your jewelry in a safe, soft environment and clean with warm soapy water. Below is advised care methods for each of our designs.
Georgia Design
The Georgia Design pendant and earrings have been created with cultured south sea pearls, white sapphires and 14kt gold.
The premier rule of preservation is that your pearls are the last thing to be put on and the first to be taken off. That means cosmetics, perfumes and haircare products are to be applied first and then the pearl jewelry put on afterwards.
Because of the delicacy of the cultured south sea pearls, harsh chemicals and commercial cleaning methods need to be avoided. The best way to clean pearls is to gently wash them in a soap solution. Use only mild soap (such as Ivory soap flakes) and warm water and a natural bristle complexion or manicure brush. Rinse in cool water for at least 5 minutes.
Oliveya Design
The Oliveya Design pendant and earrings have been created with pink and white sapphires set in 18kt gold.
Sapphire jewelry can safely be cleaned by simply using warm soapy water and a soft bristle brush. Ultrasonic and steam cleaning is usually safe. Be careful not to boil in a diamond-cleaning kit as this may cause the stone to lose polish.
It's also advisable to avoid excessively heat as this may cause some loss of color.
Crystalles Design
The Crystalles Design pendant and earrings are crafted with amethyst, citrine and peridot and set in 18kt gold.
It's always best to clean a piece of jewelry according to it's most delicate component. In the Crystalles Design that is the peridot. For a peridot, ultrasonic cleaning is risky and it should never be steam cleaned.
The best advised method of cleaning this trio of gemstones is warm soapy water with a soft brush. And, please be careful to avoid long periods of direct exposure to light as this may cause some amethysts to fade. Also, keep away from sources of high heat as this may lighten the color of the amethyst and citrine and may cause fracturing or breakage of the peridot.
Audre Design
The Audre Design earrings have been crafted with tanzanites and white sapphires and set in 14kt gold.
While it's safe to clean sapphires using ultrasonic or steam methods, these should never be used to clean a tanzanite.
The best cleaning method for the Audre Design is using warm soapy water with a soft-bristle brush.
Please keep in mind that tanzanite - at 6.5-7 on the Moh's Scalee - will suffer some abrasion during cleaning and care. Take extra care in handling these earrings.
Fleur Design
The Fleur Design pendant and earrings are created with white sapphires and 14kt gold.
Because the sapphires do not present any particular cleaning challenge, this design may be cleaned using either an ultrasonic cleaner, a steam cleaner or with warm soapy water and a soft-bristle brush.
Be careful not to boil in a diamond-cleaning kit as this may cause the stone to lose polish.
Alexandra Design
